Using wall putty makes it easy to obtain the perfect paint finish. It provides a solid foundation for painting by providing an even, smooth surface for coloring. Whether you've just moved into a new house or plan to repaint your rooms, it will ensure that your new paint lasts longer to maintain that first day look throughout the year.

Technically speaking, wall putty is a fine powder made from white cement that is mixed with water and other additives to form a solution that is applied to the wall. If you use the solution correctly, it will fill cracks, imperfections and gaps in your walls, thus creating an even base for your paint. The smooth mixture of wall putty and water fits perfectly on any type of wall, creating a flawless finish on the interior or exterior of your home.

Typically, professional painters apply two coats of wall putty before painting any surface. The first coat fills in defects and the second coat ensures that the coated surface and the wall are in line with each other. You can use putties on drywall. They can also be easily applied to plastered walls as they are applied to concrete walls. Their versatility makes them the best choice for plastering any type of wall.

How to Use Wall Putty?

1. If you plan to paint a new masonry surface, give it some time to cure before applying wall putty paint. Experts recommend curing the masonry surface at least 6 months prior to starting work.

2. Clean the surface thoroughly before applying primer or putty. Any uneven or visible dust or algae may affect the quality of the paint. Use good quality sandpaper to remove loose paint, grease or dust from the wall surface.

3. If there is any algae or fungal growth, use a wire brush and water to remove it.
