Blowing and chasing bubbles with your kids will give you a healthy workout outdoors. It's a fun activity for people of all ages. Fortunately, you don't have to spend money on store-bought bubbles. Learning how to make bubble solutions at home is often a more affordable option.
Making bubble solutions at home not only saves money, it also introduces kids to using the kitchen, measuring ingredients and doing some simple math. Making homemade bubbles also teaches lessons about reusing and repurposing materials to spark your child's imagination.
The process of making a good bubble solution is backed by science. Water itself has a high surface tension, and pure water bubbles are small and break quickly.
Adding soap or detergent to the solution lowers the surface tension and creates larger bubbles. Glycerin and corn syrup help the bubbles last longer by slowing the evaporation that causes them to burst.
Toy Bubble Water
When making your own bubbles, it's best to make large batches. Use a clean bucket or washed out gallon-sized container of milk. Then store the remaining bubbles in a milk container or large plastic jar.
To use the bubble solution, pour it into a store-bought air bubble container or a cleaned-out cylindrical container of frozen juice.
This simple recipe produces good bubbles. Many people use just water and dishwashing liquid, but the addition of corn syrup, like Karo syrup, or glycerin holds the solution together to make better bubbles.
You'll Need:
1 cup water
2 tablespoons light Karo syrup or 2 tablespoons glycerin
4 tablespoons dishwashing liquid
Stir together until everything is dissolved.
Daily Chemical Grade Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose
Regular bubbles have a nice sheen of their own, but adding a few drops of liquid food coloring to the mixture really makes a big difference.
Make sure you make this outside, away from anything that you don't want stained (cars, patios, decks, etc.). The food coloring usually washes away, but you don't want to take any chances.
You'll Need:
1 cup granulated soap or soap powder
1-quart warm water
Liquid food coloring
Dissolve soap in warm water. Mix in the food coloring until you get the shade you want.
Use this as an opportunity to discuss how colors combine with your child. For example, yellow and blue make green, and blue and red make purple.
Adding sugar also seems to produce bubbles that are bigger and slower to pop.2 If you are having a bubble-blowing contest, that could be your secret advantage.
You'll Need:
1 cup water
2 tablespoons liquid detergent
1 tablespoon glycerin
1 teaspoon sugar
Mix all ingredients together until sugar dissolves.
1. Good dispersion in cool water. Through excellent and uniform surface treatment, it can be quickly dispersed in cool water to avoid agglomeration and uneven dissolution, and obtain a uniform solution finally;
2. Good thickening effect. The required consistency of the solution can be obtained by adding a small amount. It is effective for systems in which other thickeners are difficult to thicken;
3. Safety. Safe and non-toxic, physiologically harmless, It can not be absorbed by the body;
4. Good compatibility and system stability. It is a non-ionic material that works well with other auxiliaries and doesn't react with ionic additives to keep the system stable;
5. Good emulsification and foam stability. It has high surface activity and can provide the solution with good emulsification effect. At the same time, it can keep the bubble stable in the solution and and give the solution a good application property;
6. High light transmittance. The cellulose ether is specially optimized from the raw material to the production process, and has excellent transmittance to obtain a transparent and clear solution.

Whether you are carrying out small repairs or building walls, knowing how to mix the mortar needs to be precise. If the mortar is too dry, the blocks will not stick together properly. If it is too wet, flowing mortar can spill out of the joints, resulting in wasted time and materials for clean-up.
