"Cellulose ether is a very competitive market. Without our own technology, it is difficult to gain a foothold and take a step forward." Mr. Meng, the founder and chief engineer of Haoshuo, said with a serious expression and firm eyes, "Without technology as an endorsement, we can only be followers of the market and follow others..."


In order to make employees willing to invest in technical research, Haoshuo continues to increase R&D investment and set up special R&D funds for the research and development of new technologies, new processes and new products. At present, Haoshuo's internal technical talents continue to emerge. After layers of selection, a technical research team consisting of 56 Haoshuo technicians and external talents has been established.


2015 is an important year for Haoshuo's technological breakthroughs to establish its market position. This year, the Haoshuo team successfully developed a high-viscosity HPMC product, which marked that Haoshuo had fully realized self-development and self-production in terms of high-viscosity performance breakthroughs.


"It is impossible not to be excited. After hundreds of experiments, we finally developed it. We don't have to let others hold us back anymore," recalled Mr. Meng. In order to develop high-viscosity HPMC, almost all members of the technical research team participated in the technical battle. They consulted a large number of cutting-edge materials at home and abroad and drew on many advanced research results, but each experiment was full of unknowns and challenges. In order to get the results faster, the Haoshuo team took turns working 24 hours a day, the experimental equipment was running uninterruptedly, various chemical reagents were constantly reacting in the flask, and the experimenters were concentrating on observing the phenomenon and recording each set of precious data.


After more than a hundred experiments, the shadow of failure also loomed over the team. Mr. Meng said, "So many experiments are not to say that there is no success, but there is a gap with the viscosity target we set. Some test products can meet the use of some fields...".


Every failure represents a step closer to success. In the constant review and analysis, we searched for clues to breakthroughs in the slight changes in reaction temperature, pressure, time and other parameters. Hard work pays off. After unremitting efforts day and night, the team successfully developed a high-viscosity product comparable to international brands. This breakthrough embodies the wisdom and sweat of the team members and also marks a major leap forward for Haoshuo Chemical in the field of technology. Once launched, this product quickly emerged in the domestic market, winning valuable market share for Haoshuo. It also opened the door to the global market with its outstanding performance, allowing Haoshuo Chemical to begin to emerge on the international stage.


Double breakthroughs in technology and process bring breakthroughs in production efficiency


Product technology is the seed of innovation that breaks out of the ground, and process technology is the fountain of ingenuity that flows undercurrent.


At present, Haoshuo uses automated production lines to reduce manual operations, reduce human errors, and improve production consistency and efficiency. From refined cotton crushing equipment for raw material processing to 18 original German reactors, with 75° gel temperature production technology and complete experimental testing equipment, production efficiency and product quality are fully guaranteed.


Mr. Meng stated that "we have been committed to optimizing and upgrading the production process, identifying bottlenecks and inefficient links in the existing production process, reducing the defective rate and rework rate, controlling quality from the source, and establishing a full-staff feedback mechanism to stimulate everyone's innovation awareness and work enthusiasm, and comprehensively improve production efficiency."


Once, an employee found that there was room for improvement in the product yield in the production process, but to achieve improvement, it was necessary to conduct a comprehensive analysis and improvement of the entire production process, involving the collaboration of multiple departments. "If you find a problem, you must solve it," said Mr. Meng. After research and decision, a cross-departmental collaborative project team, including the production department, equipment department, and quality control department, was established with the R&D department as the main body.


The project team took the lead in conducting a comprehensive and in-depth review of the production process. They are like rigorous explorers. Through a large number of repeated experiments and meticulous data analysis, they finally accurately found the key to affecting the product yield. It turned out that in a certain critical reaction link, there was a certain deviation in the control of the reaction conditions, and the ideal accuracy was not achieved. This slight gap, like a butterfly effect, caused some raw materials to be unable to fully participate in the reaction, which in turn had a significant impact on the product yield.


Faced with this urgent problem, the equipment department acted quickly, relying on its professional technical literacy and rich practical experience, and carefully proposed a technical transformation plan for the reaction equipment. "Only by improving the accuracy and stability of the equipment from the source can we provide a solid guarantee for the high-quality production of products." said Xu, the head of the Haoshuo equipment department. The equipment department installed high-tech "weapons" on its equipment so that the reaction conditions can be precisely controlled so that each reaction process can be carried out in the best state.


At the same time, the production department did not slack off. They deeply analyzed the existing operating procedures, combined with the new equipment conditions and process requirements, and comprehensively and meticulously optimized the operating specifications. A set of more stringent and scientific operating specifications came into being, ensuring that every operator can accurately implement the new process requirements and make every operation step perfect.


The quality control department has increased the monitoring of the reaction process. By real-time monitoring of reaction parameters, they can find potential problems the first time and quickly take effective measures to solve them, ensuring that the entire production process is always stable and controllable.


After weeks of unremitting efforts, this project has finally achieved remarkable results. The product yield has been greatly improved, and the production cost has also been reduced.


Today, with the hard work of every Haoshuo person, Haoshuo's daily production volume is as high as 200 tons, like a giant ship moving forward steadily, riding the wind and waves in the ocean of the market.


Under insight and execution, lay a solid foundation and make steady progress


"In the current increasingly fierce competition, every subtle problem may be infinitely magnified, so everyone must maintain high insight and super execution to ensure early detection and early disposal of production and quality, and not let any flaws leave Haoshuo," said Mr. Meng.


The marketing department is Haoshuo's department stationed at the front line of the market, communicating closely with downstream companies. During communication with a building materials company, the customer reported that the water retention of cellulose ether products was short-lived under special construction conditions, affecting the construction effect and later strength. After understanding the situation, the marketing department quickly fed back this information to the R&D department. After analysis, the R&D team realized that this was due to the insufficient performance of the product in specific scenarios, so they listed improving water retention as a key technical breakthrough.


The R&D team immediately started project research. In the study of improving water retention, the R&D team designed a variety of formulas and process parameter experiments. They tried different water-retention aids, adjusted the reaction time pressure, conducted multiple experiments every day during the pilot stage, recorded data, and deeply analyzed the subtle and complex relationship between water retention and various factors. When the pilot stage saw the dawn and achieved initial results, the team resolutely embarked on a new journey in the pilot stage. Pilot means the expansion of production scale, which puts more stringent requirements on the stability of equipment and processes. However, challenges also come with it. The team found that as the production scale increased, there were problems with the dispersion of water-retention aids, which directly led to the unstable water retention of the product. But the R&D staff did not back down. They acted quickly, decisively adjusted the addition method, and introduced new mixing equipment and dispersion processes. After numerous debugging and exploration, we finally succeeded in improving the water retention performance of the product. After that, we continuously monitored and fine-tuned the process in terms of process stability and cost control. After multiple rounds of experimental trial production, we found the best solution, successfully improving the water retention of cellulose ether products while reducing production costs. Let the product not bring more cost pressure to customers due to upgrading.
